I have something to admit. I am a bit obsessed with collecting chairs. I see one at a store (usually at a vintage/antique store) and I want to know all about it and I want it! There is so much history wrapped up in that small (or sometimes large) piece of furniture. It probably did not help that I had a professor in college that was even more in love with the four-legged pieces. We had chair quizzes regularly through all the design classes I took from him. However, I cannot blame him, they really are a simple way to study design through history. So please join me in my obsession this month! Whether they are kept in pristine condition or have been recovered or painted, the shapes, details and history of each chair is unique and can easily be incorporated into many fun home designs.
